“Inter Airport Europe” Exceeds Expectations

The result is extremely positive. During the “Inter Airport Europe” in Munich in the middle of October, SCHMIDT AIRPORT EQUIPMENT not only presented high performance machines for the airport airside but also offered space and opportunity for conversing in the spacious exhibition tent. Berthold Ketterer, Business Unit Manager Airport at SCHMIDT was pleased to see the space well-used.

This year at the "Inter Airport Europe", the SCHMIDT AIRPORT EQUIPMENT stand was one of the most visited in the exhibition. “One could say the Branch met up at SCHMIDT”, said Marketing Manager Robert Lambrou commenting on the multitude of visitors. However, it wasn’t just the large amount of interest which impressed the management of the traditional company, but the subject matter and the ideas at the centre of the talks. Berthold Ketterer said of the second exhibition day: “Today we had three large European airports with us – all with actual projects.” The discussions involved finding solutions, ideas and implementation possibilities. The central and focal points of this exhibition were exchange, cooperation and overcoming problems together.

SCHMIDT AIRPORT EQUIPMENT’s appearance at the "Inter Airport Europe" perfectly matched its market position. The international leader in snow clearance, sweeping and de-icing airport surfaces displayed six impressive special airport machines on its exhibition stand. The main focus was on the modularly designed jet sweepers. Also on display in front on the large exhibition tent were the compact jet sweeper CJS, as well as, the three jet sweepers from the TJS-C range. The machines were fitted, in part, with the special airport snow ploughs – amongst them, the foldable MS 72.1 K with its clearing width of 6 100 mm.

Additionally, SCHMIDT displayed the AS 990 airport sweeper and its rear mounted sweeping unit with quick change system and the new two-part fluid vacuum chute. Placed right alongside the path to the tent's entrance, it attracted a great amount of attention. SCHMIDT also exhibited the ASP mountable sprayer from the de-icing range.

Inside the exhibition tent, on three large flat screens, SCHMIDT showed a new AS 990 video and the SCHMIDT International Airport Event 2006 report. For all of the 26 machines in the airport airside range, informative, newly designed product sheets were available in German and English. The comprehensive information was supported by the pleasant atmosphere. Four friendly exhibition hostesses and a competent barkeeper made sure that the guests not only quenched their thirst for information. The tent had 18 tables and a 5 metre long bar plus comfortable seating for around 90 people. Two separate rooms provided the SCHMIDT experts and their guests an extra place to quietly carry out in-depth talks.

The SCHMIDT management is pleased with the success of the “Inter Airport Europe”. Attending the event  proved worthwhile for the Black Forest company. Marketing manager, Robert Lambrou made it clear on the last day of the event that SCHMIDT would be back in two years. Smiling he said, “We already have the biggest stand of the exhibition but in two years time, we’ll need an even bigger one.”
